Chapter Eighteen
Eddie and Jim had made themselves scarce by the time we got back to the bunkhouse. I felt like a kid, stalking Crispin through the cold night air. I was breathing heavy with anticipation, watching Crispin’s slim back bolt through the doorway first—watching his tight ass move beneath the fabric of his jeans.
I gave 3PO her medicine and settled her in her crate while Crispin showered, then I took a quick turn under the spray myself. I got back to the bedroom and found Crispin standing next to the bed waiting for me without a stitch of clothing on.
It wasn’t awkward. We both knew where the night was headed. I wanted him in the worst way, and my dick stood out, hard and ready. There was no hiding that. I stopped a foot away from him and let him look his fill.
His expression said he was pleased with what he saw and I let out an anxious breath.
“Are you nervous?”
“Nah.” I tried not to cover my junk with my hands. “Okay. Yeah. I don’t want you to be disappointed or nothing.”
He brushed his thumb over my nipple and all my muscles tightened up. “You could never disappoint me.”
A rush of breath escaped me and my lips dropped open, but I was too tongue-tied to talk. My cock throbbed. If he didn’t take me in his arms or something, if he kept on just staring at me like that, I was gonna start shaking all over.
I wasn’t ignorant. I was scared.
“What’s the matter?”
“Think we could just . . .” I motioned to my bed. “Maybe . . .”
He lifted the bedding for me. “Go on. Slide in. I’ll turn out the light.”
I scooted over on the mattress to make room for him and tried to get comfortable. “I put the things from Walmart in the nightstand drawer.”
“Good to know.”
He followed me under the covers and we faced each other, on our sides. He watched me as if he thought I was gonna to try to escape.
I might have been considering it.
“You still want this?” He stroked my hip with his calloused hand.
I nodded.
“Your first time can be kind of shocking. It might burn no matter how much I prepare you. It might hurt later, even.”
I tried to pay attention to his words but his lips kept getting in the way. They looked soft and full and oddly feminine on a masculine face like his. Like nature put them there to fool animals lower than him on the food chain into thinking he was safe.
I was fooled, clearly, because I wanted nothing more than to taste them again.
As soon as my lips met that sweet camouflage he devoured me. He rolled me beneath him and reared up over me. He took my mouth until I was breathless and I wound my arms around his neck and let him mold me to his body.
I welcomed him.
I welcomed the feel of his heat against me, and I welcomed the loss of control that went with it.
